Re-installing SQLDetective to a new PC

Follow this guide to move the installation of SQLDetective from one PC to another with all its settings and files.

Log in to your Conquest account and download the latest build of SQLDetective from the Updates page.
  • Create a project backup

Install SQLDetective on the new PC, copy the license key to the application home folder, and run SQLDetective. The key should be applied automatically. Otherwise, activate the key manually.

Copy the %AppData%\SQLDetective to the new PC.

Copy Preferences:
  1. In the old installation of SQLDetective, go to View > Preferences and click the Save button to save the settings to a file.
  2. Copy this file to the new PC.
  3. In the new installation of SQLDetective, go to View > Preferences, click the Load button and then select the file with the settings.

Copy Code Analyzer Options:
  1. In the old installation of SQLDetective, go to Edit > Format > Code Analyzer Options and click the Save As button to save the settings to a file.
  2. Copy this file to the new PC.
  3. In the new installation of SQLDetective, go to Edit > Format > Code Analyzer Options, click the Open button and then select the file with the settings.

Start using SQLDetective. All your settings, projects, and database connections should be available in the new installation.
